Born and raised amidst the serene beauty of Kathmandu, in the warmth of Shanti Goreto, Subarna hailed from a family deeply rooted in the realms of banking and education. His father, a banker and social worker, and his mother, a school teacher, laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
Subarna’s educational journey took him to Kerala, India, where he spent his formative years at Saibaba School. He later returned to Nepal for his Higher Secondary Education, completing his School Leaving Certificate from East Pole Secondary School, Jorpati, Kathmandu, in 2002. In pursuit of grand aspirations, he set foot on American soil in 2003, making Texas, Weatherford, his new home.
Fueling his thirst for knowledge, Subarna completed an associate degree at Weatherford Community College. Eager to delve further, he joined the University of Texas, Arlington, though his burgeoning business commitments led him away from completing the degree. Undeterred, he pursued his passion, attaining a Master’s in Real Estate and Economics from the University of North Texas in 2014.
Subarna’s journey as an entrepreneur began in 2003 with a retail business. His venture into the gas station business with a convenience store proved a roaring success. Bolstered by hard work and dedication, his store became the neighborhood’s gem, witnessing unprecedented growth of 300 times within a year. Buoyed by this success, Subarna ventured into four additional gas stations in partnership, reaping significant returns and gaining financial freedom.
However, Subarna’s ambition extended beyond the realm of gas stations. His fascination with real estate stemmed from the town planning documents he had seen his father work on in Nepal. This fascination ignited a desire to invest in the real estate sector. Subarna started investing in commercial properties like strip malls and residential units while still running his store.
His journey in real estate intensified when he completed his real estate degree and joined Keller Williams Realty as a real estate agent. He quickly established himself as a commercial agent, earning a reputation as one of the best realtors in the Dallas area for Keller Williams. Subarna’s expertise extended to dealing with multiple business properties, providing expert services for investors.
Driven to empower his community, Subarna founded his own real estate company, Vastu Realty, in 2018. Guided by his experience and witnessing the growing Nepali community, he sought to create a platform for his people. While professionally adept, running a business posed challenges, especially during the pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic hampered Vastu Realty’s expansion plans, but Subarna remained undeterred, envisioning a future with over 100 employees in Nepal, and creating employment opportunities in his homeland.
“I was good at the real estate dealing. he Nepali community was also growing in large numbers, which encouraged me to start my own company as I was experienced too,” said Subarna.
He also acknowledged the difficulties that he faced in this industry. According to him, “Running a real estate company is not an easy task, but due to my experience, I got succeeded in this industry.,” He further stated.
