Manju Dulal: The Pioneer in Beauty Industry.

Manju Dulal is a notable figure in the beauty industry, hailing from Topgachi, Jhapa. She comes from a middle-class farming background and pursued her schooling in Biratnagar, Morang. During her school years, she excelled not only in academics but also as a volleyball champion and a talented runner.

Her journey into the beauty profession began when she moved to Kathmandu for further education and enrolled in PK Campus. Manju underwent a six-month basic beautician training program with the Department of Labor, which provided her with a strong foundation in the field. She started her career by working at Angel Beauty Parlor and gradually obtained advanced training.

In 2005, she took over the parlor where she worked, driven by her passion for the profession and the influence of Nepali media celebrities who were her regular clients. Money-making became a significant aspect of her career as her mindset shifted toward entrepreneurship.

Manju further honed her skills through advanced training at Shanaz Beauty Institute in Delhi, specializing in skincare. She also received training from the Glamour School Beauty School in Thailand and attended international events in France and Sweden as a beauty expert.

Upon returning from Thailand, she opened the franchise of Glamour School, Thailand, in Kathmandu, naming it Glamour Education Nepal in 2013. Her career took an international turn when she became the country director in Nepal for Orey Film Cosmetic, traveling to numerous countries for beauty events and receiving the prestigious Orey Film Director award.

Manju then established Kala Herbal Beauty Parlor, which achieved remarkable success. She expanded her beauty business nationwide and trained over 4,000 young professionals to join the beauty industry. She also served as a judge on various beauty pageant panels.

Manju’s commitment to the rights of beauticians led to her founding the Beauty Parlor Labor Association” and initiating the “Nepal Beautician-Art Business Association, where she served as the General Secretary. These organizations now have over 50 branches throughout the country.

In 2014, Manju organized a six-month training camp for conflict victim families of Nepal Police, showcasing her dedication to community development. She also contributed her expertise as a trainer and task force member of NRNA NCC USA for beauty and personality enhancement.

In 2015, Manju made the move to the United States, initially taking up a parlor job but later deciding to pursue her entrepreneurial aspirations. She moved to Austin, Texas, and opened The Touch Salon in 2017, which quickly gained popularity due to her industry expertise and commitment to quality service. She has even been a makeup expert for Miss Nepal USA 2018.
