The road Aruna Karki took to become an award-winning realtor in Nashville from Nepal is evidence of her fortitude, tenacity, and spirit of entrepreneurship.
Born and raised in Ramechhap Dhobi, Nepal, Aruna’s childhood was marked by dreams of conquering the skies as a pilot. After completing her schooling at Padmakanya School in Kathmandu in 2003 and graduating from Metro Politian College with a high school diploma in 2005, Aruna went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication & Journalism from K & K College in Baneshwor in 2008.
In 2008, Aruna made the life-changing decision to move to Nashville, Tennessee, with her family. Eager to further her education and pursue her career aspirations, she encountered challenges due to visa restrictions that prevented her from immediate employment. Undeterred by this setback, Aruna volunteered her time at a threading place in a local mall, gaining invaluable insights into business operations and customer service.
Reflecting on her early experiences, Aruna recalls, “When I came to the US, I was on an H4 visa, which restricted me from working. I felt restless staying at home, so I volunteered at a threading place in the mall. It was a small role, but it taught me a lot about business and financial management.”
Determined to carve out a fulfilling career path, Aruna pursued her passion for cosmetology, enrolling in Paul Mitchell School Nashville in 2011. After completing her training and obtaining her license, she embarked on a freelance career, collaborating with local artists and photographers and finding fulfillment in her creative pursuits.
In 2014, Aruna welcomed her first son, Arvin, into the world, followed by the birth of her younger son, Aayan, in 2017. Balancing the demands of motherhood with her professional aspirations, Aruna faced challenges but remained steadfast in her commitment to achieving her goals.
In 2019, fueled by a desire for financial independence and professional fulfillment, Aruna decided to explore a career in real estate. Encouraged by her brother and friends, she began her journey by enrolling in a real estate class, laying the foundation for her future success.
Recalling her decision to enter the real estate industry, Aruna shares, “I felt unproductive and frustrated. I wanted to do something meaningful and impactful. Real estate seemed like the perfect opportunity to pursue my passion for service and entrepreneurship.”
In 2021, Aruna officially joined Keller Williams Realty as a full-time realtor, leveraging her expertise, dedication, and client-centric approach to excel in her new role. With her family’s unwavering support and her community’s trust, she quickly established herself as a top-performing agent, earning accolades for her outstanding sales volume and exceptional service.
Aruna’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, passion, and the support of loved ones. As she continues to make strides in her career and give back to her community, she remains guided by her core values of integrity, compassion, and dedication to service.
Her family plays a central role in her life and journey. She is married to Rajan Dhoj Karki, who has been a source of unwavering support and encouragement throughout her endeavors. Together, they have two sons, Arvin Dhoj Karki and Aayan Dhoj Karki, who bring joy and fulfillment to their lives. Aruna considers her parents as the source of inspiration in her life.
As a dedicated wife and mother, Aruna prioritizes her family above all else, striving to create a nurturing and supportive environment for her husband and children. Despite the demands of her professional pursuits, she cherishes the moments spent with her loved ones and finds inspiration in their love and companionship.
