Anjan Kumar Chaulagain: Transition from Politics to Business

In Minnesota, a land of pines and lakes, emerged an extraordinary figure, Anjan Chaulagain. Known for his leadership and passion for social work, he dedicated his life to helping others. Chaulagain’s early days revealed his drive for change as he got involved in student politics. From school leader to Central Committee Member of the Nepal Free Student Union, he made his mark in political activism. He later delved into Nepali Congress Party politics, serving as a respected district committee member in Sindhupalchock.

Chaulagain recalled his past efforts to help students and improve education. Driven to contribute to society, he settled in New York. His unwavering dedication earned him the position of General Secretary of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, National Coordination Council of USA, in 2021.

This organization served as a grand umbrella for the vibrant Nepali diaspora in the land of opportunities. Chaulagain’s commitment to his community knew no bounds. He ventured to Minnesota, starting a new chapter in his life and establishing his business empire. A superstore with a liquor store, gas station, and another liquor store in Brooklyn Park, Minneapolis, became his dream. But success didn’t come easy. No, it was his hard work and determination that led him to become a respected leader and successful entrepreneur.

He started as a lecturer at Tribhuvan University, refining his teaching skills and becoming a skilled public speaker. However, it was BP Koirala’s unwavering spirit that fueled his political ambitions, while Chaulagain, as a lecturer, learned about the importance of effective communication and the transformative nature of education.

These lessons formed the foundation of his political career. He is a strong leader with extensive knowledge and unmatched experience. By joining organizations, attending transformative events, and voting, they could shape the political landscape.

Chaulagain’s achievements went beyond accolades and titles. He helped struggling international students with scholarships. In his mission to help his fellow Nepalis, he reached out to repatriate depressed individuals, who had tragically lost their connection to the world. While overseeing New Superette LLC and Brooklyn Liquor, he also served as the General Secretary of NRNA NCC USA, which is a major accomplishment. Chaulagain, a communication connoisseur and problem-solving expert, understood the risks of business.

With relentless diligence and a great partnership, he propelled his enterprises to triumph. His unyielding spirit embraced adaptability and calculated risks as essential for success.

In their family, Chaulagain reveled in abundant blessings. His wife, Apsara Timalsina, and their two children, Aasita and Aayan, were unwavering pillars of support and inspiration.
