Laxman’s roots trace back to the picturesque village of Hastichaur-3, now a part of Ishma Rural Municipality-1 in Gulmi, Nepal. Born into a middle-class family, his father’s service in the Indian Army and his mother’s tireless efforts to care for Laxman and his three siblings, all while managing their farming endeavors, set the backdrop of his childhood. Yet, it was during these early years that a profound memory took root —his partnership with his retired father, tending to their vegetable crops and delivering cauliflowers to local shops. This simple act of labor ignited his connection to the earth and a resolute work ethic.
But the turning point came when his father made a pivotal decision: he invited a math teacher to live with the family, hoping to provide Laxman with the academic support he needed. This dedicated teacher proved instrumental in shaping Laxman’s future, imparting not only mathematical knowledge but also the confidence to excel in analytical roles. With this teacher’s guidance and support, Laxman gained the confidence he needed to excel in math and pursue analytical roles and positions in the future.
Education became the cornerstone of his ascent. Laxman’s career is a timeline of success. From humble beginnings as a Management Analyst at Gorkha Brewery in Kathmandu, Nepal, in 2010, he embarked on a transformative journey. His path led him to Los Angeles, California, where he took on diverse roles, such as an accountant at various companies from 2012 to 2015, an Accounting Analyst at Brentwood Home LLC from 2015 to 2017, and a Senior Financial Analyst at Kaiser Permanente from 2017 to the present. Laxman’s expertise expanded across industries, including healthcare and e-commerce, further enriching his professional repertoire.
The genesis of his business endeavors was rooted in family experiences. His father’s entrepreneurial attempt, investing in a small grocery store, ultimately faltered due to financial challenges. Witnessing the struggles of a small business inspired him to enter the world of accounting and finance, and in 2017, he founded Lilax Accounting, a company that provides accounting, tax, and financial guidance to Nepalese entrepreneurs in the Greater Los Angeles area. Throughout his career, Laxman donned various hats, from Accountant to CPA, Financial Advisor, and Small Business Consultant. His proficiency in these roles allowed him to guide individuals and organizations through intricate financial landscapes, steering them away from pitfalls and toward prosperity.
Not content with personal success, Laxman believes that his fellow Nepali diaspora in America can forge a prosperous path by embracing principles of hard work, entrepreneurship, community involvement, and lifelong learning. He extols the importance of giving back and remaining committed to ethical work.
One of the most joyous moments in his life was the establishment of Lilax Accounting, a venture designed to aid Nepalese entrepreneurs in the Greater Los Angeles area. Being able to help his fellow community members succeed in their businesses and achieve financial stability has been incredibly fulfilling for him.
Laxman’s legacy is rooted in his dedication to financial stability and his contributions to the Nepalese community in the United States. He champions the preservation of Nepalese culture, defined by peace, hard work, and ethics. In the realm of his personal life, Laxman is a devoted husband to Kalpu, and they began this journey together in April 2011 when they shifted to Los Angeles, California.
