Narayan Neupane, a reputed figure in the sector of Information Technology (IT), shines as a Senior Software Engineer in a prominent global IT consulting firm. Hailing from the fertile lands of Lumbini, Nepal, he has traversed continents to establish his mettle in the United States. Presently, he graces Orlando, Florida. His journey is a tapestry woven with academic achievement, community empowerment, and a steadfast dedication to uplifting the tech-savvy minds of Nepal.

Narayan Neupane, a beacon of IT enthusiasm and motivation among Nepali tech youth, stands as the founder and president of the Information Technology Society, Nepal (IT-S, Nepal). He co-founded Nepal’s IT Security Emergency Response Team (ITSERT-NP), a testament to his dedication to bolstering Nepal’s technological resilience. Under his stewardship, Nepali IT professionals worldwide are united, propelling initiatives to transform Nepal into an alternative IT and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) destination.

A pivotal era beckoned as Neupane served as a board member of the IT Development Committee in the Government of Nepal (2012-2016) and Vice President of the Federation of Computer Association of Nepal (CAN Federation) from 2013 to 2015—an entity enshrining Nepal’s IT industry and professionals.

Narayan Neupane’s narrative unfurls with childhood roots embedded in Rupandehi, Nepal. From this humble origin, his academic journey traversed milestones, culminating in a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) pursuit in Information Security at the University of the Cumberlands, Kentucky, USA (2021-current). Neupane’s academic odyssey also encompasses a Master of Science in Information Technology (M.Sc. IT) from Sikkim Manipal University, India, in 2009, and a Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) from Purbanchal University, Biratnagar, Nepal, in 2006.

Neupane’s career journey is a testament to his dynamic spirit. He steered the ship as Chief Operating Officer at Nepal Certifying Company (2013-2017), adorned the position of Head of IT at Lumbini Bikas Bank (2010-2013), and lent his expertise as an Information Management Officer at Disaster Preparedness Network (DPNet)-Nepal (2009-2010).

His career path was shaped by a pivotal decision ignited by the burgeoning IT education trends in Nepal during the early 2000s. Purbanchal University introduced the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT), aligning with the epoch’s emergence of Software Engineering training centers. Neupane’s pursuit of a Bachelor of IT at the College of Software Engineering marked the genesis of his odyssey.

While accolades punctuate his journey, Neupane’s heart pulsates for service. A rich portfolio of charitable initiatives underscores his character—the Founder and Coordinator of the Global Nepalese ICT Consortium, Founder and General Secretary of Information Technology Security Emergency Response Team Nepal (ITSERT-NP) 2018 to current, from 2014 to 2017, and Vice President of the Federation of Computer Association of Nepal (CAN Federation) during 2007-2015 beckon a testament to his commitment to empowerment. Before this, he was a Board Member of the National Information Technology Development Committee, Government of Nepal from 2012-2016) and Founder President of Information Technology Society-Nepal from (2003 to 2007).

Narayan Neupane’s journey is adorned with numerous accolades that affirm his excellence. In the past, he was honored by King Birendra at Budhanilkantha School for the Nationwide Essay Competition Award. Similarly, Red Cross Dhading recognized him for the Nationwide Album Competition Award. Additionally, his contributions to the field of IT were acknowledged through various awards, including the Youth in ICT organized by Boster Media, where he was honored by Hon. Minister Lalbabu Pandit, Ministry of General Administrative.

He also received the Youth ICT Motivator award and recognition from Hon. Ex-Ministers Ganesh Shah and Kalpana Dhamala, Ministry of Science Technology and Environment. Further recognition came from the Youth in ICT award organized by the ICT Journalist Development Forum, with Hon. Minister Sher Dhan Rai, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, acknowledging his achievements.

In the social sector, he was awarded by the Ex-Student Forum in Ramanpur Higher Secondary School Sainamaina Rupandehi. His remarkable contributions to IT were acknowledged and celebrated by the Computer Association of Nepal CAN-Federation in 2017 and the South Asia Partnership (SAP-Nepal) in 2018
