Pradip Karki, also known as Phillip, is a dedicated realtor with a diverse career in Health and Human Services. He hails from the eastern part of Nepal, Mouwa, Panchthar, and is the elder son in a family of two brothers and one sister. His parents moved to Kathmandu when he was just three years old, and they settled in Thasikehel, Lalitpur.
One cherished childhood memory that stands out for Pradip is the annual family trips during auspicious festivals like Dashain and Tihar. These journeys took them back to their birthplace to visit their grandparents,. where he experienced the natural beauty and warm-hearted people of his village. During one such month-long holiday, he also spent time at the local school, which his parents and grandfather had initiated. There, he shared his experiences from his boarding school life, teaching English, and leaving an indelible mark on the young students.
Pradip’s educational journey has been marked by significant milestones. He completed his school from Uma Maheshwor Higher Secondary School in 2002, followed by earning his Intermediate of Commerce from Namuna Machhindra College in 2004. Subsequently, he pursued a Diploma in Hospitality from Internapa College in 2005.
His quest for knowledge led him to the United States, where he attained a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality from Johnson and Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island, in 2008. Later, in 2012, he achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, Oklahoma. Continuing his educational journey, Pradip is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
Pradip’s career has been diverse, encompassing various roles and locations. He gained valuable experience by working in restaurants and hotels in Rhode Island. During his college years in Texas, he dedicated time to working at a convenience store. He then transitioned into sales and administration, where he spent three years in Kansas. In New Hampshire, he took on the role of a Realtor for three years. His career path also led him to contribute to the field of Health and Human Services, where he worked for five years in New Hampshire.
The inspiration for his current career as a realtor came from his personal experience of buying property. Striving for more control over his schedule, his work-life balance, and a desire for financial independence, he decided to become a realtor. He aimed to help families like his, who found the real estate process complex and challenging, to achieve homeownership and live the American dream.
Pradip’s vast career experiences, including hospitality, administration, mental health, health and human services, and real estate, have provided him with a wealth of knowledge and skills that he applies in his real estate career.
In Pradip’s view, success in American business and social life isn’t limited to a specific nationality. Success depends on setting goals, having the drive to achieve them, and a strong work ethic. Social life, he believes, is an inherent part of being human, and engaging with society is crucial.
Pradip’s most joyous moments revolve around the birth of his two daughters, who serve as his motivation and a source of laughter, dreams, and love in his life.
He is actively involved in various charities in New Hampshire and Nepal, emphasizing the importance of giving back.
In his professional journey, Pradip values his current role as a realtor the most. It provides him the freedom of being his own boss, managing his time, and allowing his income to depend on his efforts. He is also engaged in various roles, including Marketing Director for NH Everest Centennial Lions Club, Treasurer for NRN NH Chapter, Executive Board Member of NH Nepalese Community, Board Member of Concord Lions Club, and a member of the Agent Leadership Council at Keller Williams Metropolitan Realty.
Pradip shifted to the United States in 2008 and has since built a life with his family, including his wife, parents, two daughters, and siblings.
